Thinking of conventional for next oci

I have become very money conscious or saving a ton. Sold most of stash and my old hi def tv. Considering going back to QSGB for 5k ocis. I know; i am nuts. Or, i can get Federated conventional oil for $1.49 quart thru work

I just recently just ran "Everest" syn blend oil. Cheapest I could find. About $8 US for 5 liters. Ran it all winter and past what the OLM on my car said to go. Sent a sample to Blackstone, results were less wear metals than the average that Blackstone tracks. I can't see how you can go wrong with an oil that meets SAE SN specs unless you have some fancy turbo gizmo. QSGB will be fine.

All of these conventional oils can go 10,000 miles in most applications now. Just check their specs.

$13.97 for 5 quarts of Quaker State, $22.65 for 5 quarts of Castrol Edge.

If each oil change uses an $8 filter:

5,000 mile OCI with QSAD, $.004394 per mile

7,500 mile OCI with Castrol Edge, $.004087 per mile

So, actually cheaper with synthetic.

Nick if you're making that comparison, it's actually cheaper using QSUD at 10k since it's only $19.97

That's like half the cost per mile!

I also switched to a blend after running synthetic for about 60k miles, due to a small leak at the oil pump.

I am now using QS-HM. Latest VOA looks good.

I can get PYB $13~ at Rural King. Never tried QSUD
