This is why my dad won't let me do oil changes on his & mom's cars. He insists on taking them to the ford dealer, even though it seems like nearly every time they "find" something wrong to the tune of between $200-$400. Especially on mom's car, though given it is 13 yrs old, and things are gonna start to go, but still!
and actually they just replaced that car yesterday,(one big repair too many for dad - RF spring broke in the middle shedding nearly 2 rounds) went to same dealer, replaced 99 Taurus(which it somehow became my job to sell), with 09 Taurus limited.
and yes having all the service records from them will help in the selling. but still.
I'm at 8k, so I'm pretty sure anything 'hardware' they find is going to be on their dime though.
