Suprised with new car and E10

My subcompact car used E0 for the first few years until E10 became mandatory.

E0 gave me constant 5.0-5.2L/100 KM (around 46 MPG)
E10 now gives me 5.6-5.8L/100 KM (around 41 MPG)

That's a 10% decrease

I can get back to 46 MPG by using Shell premium, about the only E0 fuel you can get in my part of Canada, but the price makes it so regular E10 is actually cheaper to run.

I also tested fuels with my pickup, but difference was unnoticeable, it drinks a lot of whatever you feed it.

I'm not sure where you are located but do you have any Costco gas stations there? If so, their premium is E0 and is usually priced at less than the cost of 87 octane at the major stations.

That depends on the locality, here all grades are E10.
