Suggestions on window screen spline and tools?

I need to re-screen a bunch of window screens - mine are all faded and probably close to failure.

The Spline in the window currently is 1/8 solid it appears. All the spline I find online is hollow core? Does this matter?

Any suggestions on a good roller tool?

I know - this sounds pretty simple, but with all the choices I am guessing someone here has already figured this out and can save me some aggravation.

I'm still using one that I got about 50 years ago!

The one on the left still works great, the newer "Rollerknife" one is too hard to control.

One comment is you can easily pull things too tight and the screen frame will be bowed in on the long sides.
