Shearing is expected thus the recommendation of 5W30 over 5W20. Also 10W30's are blended on the light and of grade thus often 20 grades.
 
Run 5-30 like the book says.
Any namebrand will work.
Change before you go and when you get home.
No need to worry about this.
You don't know more than the engineers, unlike many on this site.

I've noticed this also with 0W20s vs 5W20s. The 0W20s are always thicker at operating temperature via pds vs the same company's 5W20s. At least that's the case with the Pennzoil and Quaker State oils.
 
Highway miles are easy on motor, turbos and oil. Change before you leave and when you come home. Something like Supertech 10w30 would be more than enough for what you need. More expensive oil doesnt mean its better or more stought.
