Stick with a 30k intervals and regardless of fluid brand, you shouldn't have any issues with normal usage.

Synchromax and Maxgear will serve your Jeep well.

Thanks, that is really good to know. I think the amsoil white paper freaked me out a little too prematurely. So my amsoil guy swapped out my severe gear 75w90 for the 75w110. When i looked at the specs it showed that the 110 is speced liked the 75w90 of the maxgear (similar pour ponts, i.e. thickness, etc.). I checked out the link that Pablo gave me earlier in the thread on lubes, and sure enough, the rp is now out of spec. It really should be labeled 75w110.
So since I had the amsoil on hand, I decided to swap fluids out of the front diff-it has the drain plug. When I drained the rp out (there was only 8k on the fluid), it was still purple and still looked like it did the day I put it in. I only 4 wheeled a few times, so there was very minimal demand, but it was spinning in there constantly. The purple will disappear after a short while in rp lubes, but it was still as purple as our lilac bush that I am looking forward to blooming soon.
SO, I think they both are great oils, and I will save the amsoil and use it in the rear pumpkin in a couple of years(I wasn't looking forward to tearing into it anyway i.e. rtv gasket, mess, etc.)
Thanks all for your posts in this thread. They all were very helpful.

IME, I've found that the purple color used in RP is typically affected by heat more than anything...

I have two fills on 85w140, the first was with a stock cover (and slightly less oil) and it lost its color very soon (the AAM diffs are known to run hot). The second is the current fill (with approaching 50k miles) and an higher capacity aluminum cover (pushing 9 quarts per fill)...the oil looks and feels like the day I poured it in.

I know RP will tell you the purple color means nothing, it isn't an indicator of the useful life of the oil.

NHSilverado,

It is interesting to find that you would not believe AMSOIL if they were to say, and I'm quoting you "I wouldn't believe Amsoil telling me the sun rose in the AM and set in the PM." I think you should call this guy named Kevin at AMSOIL. Maybe you and he could have a good conversation of enlightenment. In fact you might want to check your Private Message since he may have left his phone number for you to call.

Sincerely,
