Pascal was one of my 1st loves; well written Pascal reads like a book almost as well as COBOL. Pointers and structures baby! OOP for the win! No more spaghetti code!!!! C is just a ripped off Pascal for coders like me who cannot type.

Algol was my second language, after Fortran. Pascal was my third or fourth.

I taught Pascal for many years and would discuss Niklaus Wirth and the origins of the language on the first day of class.
