odometer: 37,703 miles
OCI: 4,943 miles, 5 months (lots of highway)
Average OCI: 4,713 miles (no sludge for this VQ35)
Out: Rotella Gas Truck 5w-20 synthetic, Fram TG6607 filter
In: Castrol Edge XP 5w-20 synthetic, Fram TG6607 filter

I hope you keep this oil in a lot longer than the previous OCI, especially with your highway miles plus it's a long drain oil. Use it to it's potential and get your ROI. Unless you're worried about warranty issues.

This is the second oil change since our purchase last October. There was no oil consumption during this 4,000 mile run.

Jennifer and I just completed a 2,054 mile trip in this beauty. Including lots of long climbs and steep grades on RT 219 in West Virginia. I had my foot into her! I’m super pleased at the lack of oil consumption, and overall how well she runs.

I plan to use up my clearance 15W40 and 5W40. Then switch to HPL.

We are loving this car!

I hear you, except these VQ35 motors don't especially like longer drain intervals. Since I've read enough stories about these sludged engines, I prefer 5K mile intervals even though the Edge XP oil generally can go longer in other applications.
 
Filter change to sample HPL oil to lab. Oil was not drained. There is something special about this oil. It smells SWEET in a good way i almost want to lick it. @RDY4WAR mentioned its probably from the high ester content, oil came out dark from the filter but the white towel blot test shows the oil is clean with a light yellow stain.

Out came a FS3600, 5603 miles in service.
A Donaldson P551132 with some somarium cobalt magnets added to the baseplate went back in prefilled with HPL 5W30 and 8 oz top off at the fill port.

Will do a cut and post tonight but unfortunately i rushed the filter removal and got my cap wrench stuck on the filter that came out. Looking forward to see what the magnet caught.

Also no rust on the bottom of the fram just dried water stains. Wet seasons are over.

Why would you put magnets inside the filter, near the oil holes, which pump out 30-50PSI? They might move and plug one of the filters oil holes.

Why would you put magnets inside the filter, near the oil holes, which pump out 30-50PSI? They might move and plug one of the filters oil holes.
There has been threads on people doing this long ago before me without issues. These are very strong samarium cobalt magnets, they will keep their adhesion even under high temps far better than neodymium magnets.
