Don’t want to rock the boat but last time nothing poured out of the filter (it’s angled upside down). Yesterday it did as usual.

Drives me bonkers having mishaps with splashing onto the driveway…🙂

Are you going to cut that oil filter open? Or I could cut and post it for you. Nice oil change 👍🇺🇸🍺

In: Agip SINT 2000 10W40 + HPL EC30

This is my Dad’s car. This is the 2nd oil change since I inherited it.

The previous oil changes were bulk 5W30. The engine has varnish and some sludge.

I plan to change the oil every 3-4K with a A3/B4 spec plus the HPL EC30 for 4-5 oil changes.

The Agip oil is approved for: A3/B4, SL, MB 229.1

I also installed the ValvoMax drain.

The Euro oil bottles have much more interesting designs/shapes than the boring American bottles.

Storytime: My father traded his used 2019 RAV4 Adventure for this car about 2 1/2 weeks ago. He wasn’t sure what car to get when he was on the lot, but I talked him into a sedan instead of a crossover and he agreed without hesitation. One thing he and I like like about this car is the fact it still has a traditional ignition operated by key in the column and a foot operated manual parking brake instead of electronic. It’s safe to say he likes this car a lot more than his RAV4, and about equal to his enjoyment for his long gone 2006 Tundra he drove off the lot brand new years ago. He’s in his 60s, Army Vet, retiring soon. Sorry for the long story, I changed the oil early, as the engine is breaking in, and went with Toyota oil as it is supposed to have more additives (Moly?) which this new engine needs, eventually we’ll switch to Mobil 1 or something like that. A key switch and a cable parking brake would be enough to convince me to buy one. I don't like the buttons.

Are you on your second or third timing belt on the Ford Escape? What sort of gas mileage do you get?? I like the idea of a little turbo engine.

In. 5w20 supertech synthetic 10k and another blue supertech filter.

2013 Ford fiesta 1.6 4-cylinder

Out. 5w20 supertech 5w20 5k synblend with blue st3614 filter

In. 5w20 supertech 10k syn with a white supertech 3614.

Used almost a full box of the supertech I got on clearance awhile back
