Subaru Legacy 2005

They did a nice job on this car. Wish the WRX looked more like it. They need a two door version of this car and I'd buy one.

as much as the 250 hp turbo appeals to my naughty side, i'm more likely to retain my license with the n/a engine. i'm kind of surprised that they are bringing the turbo outback to the states, when the australian market would be fairly substantial.

my next suby may be a legacy, but that's probably a model or two down the road. they are good looking.

yup the new subaru is a beauty. this car is japan car of the yr(voted by the media editors and the auto professionals in japan).

more pictures here: notice the McIntosh stereo in the picture below, i dont know if it will be an available option.

McIntosh car stereo! That's the first time I've ever seen that available in any car from the factory. I'll buy one if the woman comes with the purchase?

We have a McIntosh in our 2002 Subaru VDC sedan. I never considered myself an audiophile before, but MAN!!! that stereo makes sounds I've never heard before on old familiar CDs. It truly is unbelievable.

Subaru should get tons of credit for being one of the only car companies in the last 15 years to redesign a car without adding weight. The turbo looks nice too. Too bad their gas mileage is still a little weak.

I guess there is no way they can overcome the friction penalty of 4wd. Great looking car though, I wonder if it will become a Saab at some point as well.

d@mn that's a nice looking car.

i want the radio and the seats in my car.

i wonder how hard it would be to integrate the radio into my car?

It's my understanding that McIntosh engineers insisted on having a hand in some of the design of the interior (esp. things like material choice) so that it would sound EXACTLY as intended. I think they even dealt w/ things like wind noise and engine noise abatement. If you ordered all the parts, I think it would sound different in your car than mine, although I'm still sure it would sound DARN sweet.

Fortunately (?) he did not join Fuji in time to influence the redesign of the Legacy. Here is his current design direction for Subaru.

on subaru's website, it doesn't list the radio as an option. too bad b/c it's a great selling point.

i'm sad b/c even if i imported the radio, the power/volume knob is on the right side and the tuning knob is on the left. useless for an american car.

[insert hairbrained idea]maybe if i imported the whole car i could make use of the radio and RHD configuration[/ end hairbrained idea]

seotaji, don't be sad!! They DO offer a McIntosh here in the US. It's standard on the VDC model outback. I've got one in my '02, I think they came out in the '01 model year.
