New August record temp in Phoenix

I think Atlanta set a record on Monday (Aug 5)... for being cold. After two months of horrid heat and humidity, the temperatures for a few days dropped down and set a record COLD temp. of 69ºF. It was incredible. Unfortunately it didn't last and now it's back to 75% humidity and 95ºF.

Austin's only had 8 days this year where the temperature was 100+. A few years ago, we had 73.

I wonder how many people put boots on dogs to go out and pee when the temps get that high.
The local weather I use has a contiuous Pavement Temperature reading on their website. Currently, it's about 6am and the temperature on pavement is still 88F. By mid-afternoon, it's in the 140s, and sometimes higher. I take my dogs out as soon as it's light enough to pick up their business without having to carry a flashlight.

LOL I loved that stupid comment. [No disrespect intended!] I would reply with "heat up your oven to 118F and stick your head in there, that's a dry heat too."
It is amazing what you can stand in a sauna with the air dry, 180F for quite a while, but throw some water on the rocks or get some air moving, and then it feels real warm!
118F outside touching metal stuff in sun would be hard to take though. Rare steak is not much warmer!
