I've looked online and can't seem to find where to buy seat belts. I need them for 2 cars:
2002 Chevy Trailblazer LTZ. It's loaded with every option except heated seats (not sure if that was an option that year). So it has side air bags and memory seats. The seat belt locks up constantly on whoever is in the front passenger seat so it's always choking that person. When taking off the seat belt it won't come back out usually and locks up, very annoying. I'd like my mechanic to replace this one, seat needs to come apart.
The Chevy dealer doesn't sell them anymore and I don't want a junk yard one, they don't have cars this new in the junk yard out here. Plus I don't want to remove it.

1996 Jeep Cherokee SE 4 door. It's the passenger side rear seat belt. This one doesn't like to retract back in on itself so it's usually retracted out, not safe for passengers.
Jeep dealership can order these from Michigan for $150 (I get wholesale price through my mechanic) and I might replace this one myself. If I have to, I'll get a junk yard one but this is a safety item, not sure how I feel about junk yard parts for that.

The seat belts for both cars are brown/tan.

Thanks for any help, I just can't find where to buy these.

This is one way they get old cars off the road...no support for things like this.Imagine all these slow selling hybrids (Malibu/Lacrosse/Chevy pickup) that once they leave the market no parts will be available for.People would say there should be a law...but,where would one draw the line? I would like a new driver seatbelt retractor for my 88 car...but no dice.

I've done that and also washed the seatbelt itself in soapy water.

Try car-part.com. Seems like they are $50-$75 at the junkyard. Usually junkyard parts have a 30 day warranty so if it doesn't work out right, you can swap it for another. Otherwise you'd probably have to buy it from the dealer. You just have to search for a dealer that discounts Chevy parts, I can usually find dealers that discount around 30% for OEM parts. You could try huskerparts.com and see if they have it.

Try another dealer, my daughter had to buy a rear right seat belt assembly last summer for her 2005 Tahoe, Chevy still had it. Or get a Hot Rod magazine, look in the back ads, there seat belt sellers there.

Thanks for that website! I'm sure I'll be able to get one on there.

Also, my brother needs a front axle for his jeep, and we found some on there!

$150 for new OE, and for a '96 Cherokee no less? Buy that thing now, because Fiat probably won't want to make any more and that's a pretty good price on a seatbelt. Not outlandish at all.

Is that even a legit website? Looks like someone made it on a weekend

It doesn't even ask what color, lets me add a generic seat belt to the cart and checkout. They came in at least 3 colors and it seems the tan I have is the least popular.

That's a legit site, I've bought from them before and I was very satisfied. Pewter is in stock, which is the really light tanish color that you sometimes could think is gray. I think oak is the brownish tan color.

I have bought from that site before. I had to buy a new buckle for my '01 Impala and I found a NOS stock on ebay for $20. It was the wrong color but a new GM parts so I wasn't complaining.

I thought that was true for all makes/models? A federal thing? Pretty sure a dealer wouldn't elude to this unless you politely made them aware.

Nope, Ford only covers them under the NVLW, no lifetime coverage. Same with Mazda.

I had a problem on a ford pickup's seat belts, maybe 5 years old. The dealer said he'd order a new one for me, after weeks of calling and finding it never came in I gave up and fixed it myself.

The seat belts on my Gen Coupe have an explosive charge in them. If they ever fire you have to buy new ones at about $300 a side.
