It’s too bad BMW discontinued their LL-01 5w30. They will only carry the LL-01 FE 0W-30 going forward.

Yup, but GOOD LUCK finding it on ANY Wal Mart shelf, let alone anywhere for less than $9.xx/quart.

That's a nice NOACK number for a 5w30. Good juice.

Better be, for $10/quart at Walmart.

It is not on my local Sino Mart shelves FOR ANY PRICE around here.

Correct, as I paid less than that WITH shipping for the fully PAO/POE based, 0.8 SA, 6.2 NOACK, and BIG anti-wear/anti-friction add packed, Ravenol REP 5w30 which is going in for the summer OCI.

I did not even know that XOM produced this in jug sized containers.

I guess there are still some inventories somewhere. I just had a look at spec of Shell Helix Ultra Professional AB 5w30 and it seems the same oil.

Again, if you're just looking for the lowest NOACK, nothing will beat PPPP 10W-30 with its 4.7%. It's practically a SAE 30 straight grade.

Any oil with NOACK less than 7% or so must be GTL or PAO unless it's a 15W or 20W.

I'm skeptical about M1 ESP 5w30. Mobil said it was Group III with no PAO or GTL. There is no reason to believe data posted without a solid reference on an obscure blog.

I'd be interested to know where you got the Ravenol from. I'd really like to get some if I can find it for a decent price.

I am not sure how that testing is obscured? I do not find it more or less obscure then PQIA which you constantly quote.
Some of PQIA tests and comparisons are true insult to intelligence.
Let's remember that true NOACK value also depends on methodology and probably manufacturer knows exactly the percentage.
Considering that NOACK of old M1 0W40 was 8.7%, it is possible that ESP has very low NOACK as they shared base oils.

I got it at Blauparts, based in Wisconsin (not sure I am allowed to post up their site addy?) as they are the ONLY current distributor in all of NA/USA currently.

Admittedly, I got it on a 17% 'tax day' discount, in the 5 liter jug, with free shipping since I spent over $100.00 (before discount) by adding other Ravenol products (their excellent MTF-2 being one of them), but they offer these discounts often if you sign up on their site.
