Beer is like motor oil.......
No bad ones, just some better than others

P.B.

I also like Newcastle Brown Ale. Although I find it a tad weak, its flavor is pleasant enough. I haven't tried it on tap, because I drink only at home.

Newcastle Brown Ale has an odd aftertaste but is still a fine beer. I think it's only 4.5% so not too potent.

Hey, I haven't had Labatt's in a couple of years. IMO it's on par with Germany's best Pils. I do like a good Pils every once in a while, I think I'll get a case next go around.

(Though I don't drink the light stuff, too watery)

Agreed with whomever said that Sam Adams was over hopped. Yuck. Leaves a bitter taste in your mouth, too dang strong. I, for easy convience, am a Michelob Lager drinker. But, when I get the chance to enjoy a great beer, there are two places that I would absolutely move into and just die there....one is the Blue Corn Cafe in Santa Fe, NM. They make a beer called the Atomic Ale.....the other is in South Carolina at Hilton Head Island Brewery and it's called Carolina Wheat or Charleston Wheat, I forgot because it was that good. But, like I get a chance to go to those places but once every 3 to 4 years if I'm lucky.

One of the WORST beers ever tasted was while I was at Dad's house in Clarksville, that would be Red, White and Blue beer.

Wait a minute, when are people going to start talking about beer? All I see here are **** weak commercial lagers made mostly of rice! Newcastle being moderately passable.

Arrogant Bast_rd Ale - now that's a beer!
Ommegang Abbey Ale -ecxellent Belgian style!
Storm King Imperial Stout - the breakfast drink of kings.
Coopers best extra stout is also good. Makes Guiness look like spring water.

Ales = Beer

lager = alcoholic beverage for people who don't like beer

I usually drink this stuff:

That's as close to Polish beer as I can get over here. The common Bud/Coors/Miller is lacking the taste and strength for me.

But when I'm out with friends and have to drive home afterwards, I have something less strong like Corona.

To each his own. I've never been drunk in my life but have an occasional beer. Stroh's is my favorite all-around beer, brewed in the old German way of only containing water, hops, and barly barly malt. Other beers that are "easy drinking" might have cereal grains and or rice in the ingredients. People who judge beer by its price like saying PBR is a cheap nasty beer and Bud cost more and is better dont know jack. Most of us americans dont appreciate real beers and like beers that slide down the throat like water to get a buzz. The big problem with beers such as PBR, Stroh's and less popular brands are that there often not as fresh as bud light which flies off shelves. Fresher is better.

Is Stroh's really still only barley?

I had some 20 years ago when I had to do time in Ft. Wayne, Indiana - and it was good! But a few years ago I tried it again and it seemed like Butd.

'Light beer was invented by the Prince of Darkness!" Inspector Morris on PBS. I agree! ok if working in hot conditions maybe, but give me Sam Adams or most any microbeer. Was at a reunion and they were serving Bud Light, and a another guy said 'Don't you have any real beer?' I asked him what he liked, he said Miller Lite!!! Groan. I also like most Stouts and Porters

The aftertaste is the biggest issue I have with beer in general. Sometimes I could swear I just had a dead rat in my mouth.

Mori, are you sure you are Bavarian? We could almost put you on trial for blasphemy for those comments.

Just in fun. Ever here of HCM in Kiel or Albert Frankenthal or Kaspar Walter? Worked with a lot of those guys. Budweiser or Beck's was the order of the day when they were here. Guess we all have different taste buds.
