Well "price wise". The battle between Quaker State & SuperTech is taking an effect to SuperTech's cheap oil price tag. At the Walmart here in Houston, if you go in the afternoon, Quaker State's shelves seems to be almost empty. Then the next morning store clerks fill it up with 5 qt jugs of Quaker State of different viscosities and later in the afternoon they're almost gone. Pennzoil & Valvoline lower prices are also right there just a hitting distance between Quaker State & Supertech. I must say SuperTech is in trouble, well in the stores here in Houston. I don't know in other cities in other states..

perhaps pricing of some of the bigger names IS a way to get Warren and Supertech to lower their costs...on the other hand, I've seen at my local Walmart Supertech air filters and oil filters fill the shelves then recede to nearly none available while Fram and Mobil filters now fills the shelves by me...

SuperTech oil is hard to keep on the shelves here. The majors just sit there.
ST will never be in trouble. It could be WM just blowing out inventory. As you yourself would probably admit you're not brand sensitive but price sensitive and ST will almost always be cheaper.
ive never used supertech branded anything. i was always under the impression it wasnt as good as the other name brands. lately ive been reading reviews about supertech & amazon oils and according to thousands of reviews it might be some good stuff. but 5w30 oil in all brands is next to impossible to find here. walmart shelves have been barely stocked for months. oil filters for my ranger & many others are never in stock. i spoke with the manager of the tire & lube express and was informed they are having supply chain issues with certain companies, mobil & motorcraft were mentioned as having trouble. auto part stores seem to have plenty, but unless its on sale at autozone, advance auto or oreillys it costs at least $10+ more than walmart everyday price.
Bring back the clear bottles!

Shell has the advantage of being the blender, they can dump overstocks and have no middle man. Walmart has to pay Warren who themselves has to make a buck and then Walmart wants to make a cut as well.
Compared to Shell's other brands QS has almost no advertising either.
I've used Supertech without the slightest concern but I'm not going to pick it over an offering from a major.
Motorcraft was mentioned, I was in a rural Walmart last week and not a single Motorcraft filter. Not one.

Walmart doesn't even carry Motorcraft filters anymore..
Walmart by me, no Supertech oil on the shelves. I don't use it anyway, I was using Costco Kirkland full synthetic 5W-20 Costco don't even have that. Nor do they have any other oil, they don't even have Mobil 1. For that matter. But I know the Walmart by me, sells the hell out of that Quaker State.. and Valvoline... That has to be the top sellers by me..

I would say 10k max but that's more than I would run any oil
Just a thought about Warren Highline but if the supply chains were crimped then WH would end up being the loser. They get their components from somewhere else. If those companies were having supply issues they might decide to concentrate on keeping their own products going and that would leave Warren out in the lurch so to speak.
Per 5 qt jug of Costco is a few bucks cheaper than WM by me in the Costco 2 jug box. Still a lot cheaper than the big names.
My local Supercenter didn't for a l o n g while but they are back.
Shortage or outrage? IDK the reason. I purchased my FL-910S in Epping, NH last month.
