Is grease useless once it dries out?

My grease seems to dry out before I use it all up. I assume it's useless once dry?

probably best to get new grease,rather cheap investment as to taking a chance on bearing failure

Dried up grease offers little if any protection.

Never let the grease get in contact with water and debri such as sand, dust etc. After each use, always put back the lid/cap on to prevent in contact with moisture

Grease is mainly a suspension of oil, so yeah, once it dries out, the oil is gone.

I always keep it covered. I have brand new tubes of grease that have dried out.

Your in Apple Valley I see. Wonder if storing the grease tubes in the fridge or a cooler would help. I was in Apple Valley and Hesperia some time back and it was HOT.
