I need a new dishwasher

I have had Whirlpool appliances in the kitchen and garage for 20 years now. I'm a believer in their quality, so I specifically look for that label, or the Whirlpool-made no-name brands.

Our Whirlpool made dishwasher had one of the wheels that pulls the top tray out, brake. I called them up and they sold me a replacement part over the phone for less than $10. I was surprised that they were obviously not trying to make a ton of cash for a replacement part like that. 60 seconds after opening the package, it was working as normal again. At any rate, this dishwasher has now been running/working since I moved into this house in 1999 or 98 (can't remember which).

Our Bosch is quiet but cleans poorly. Would not buy another one.

Same with our Bosch electric dryer. Dries poorly, and almost always needs an extra 20 minute cycle - so any energy efficiency they claim is probably gone by needing an extra cycle to dry properly. I’m done with Bosch.

Miele.

Just installed a replacement for a 17+ year old Miele with another one. Does a great job cleaning dishes, holds more dishes than anything else and dead quiet.

Helpful customer service that wants to solve your problem located in the NYC area.

I'd buy another in a heartbeat.

We did alot of shopping around and looking at reviews. We ended up buying a LG Quadwash dishwasher. We have had bosch and kitchenaid in other homes. This is by far the best. Very quiet and cleans better than any other one we have had. Ordered the model we wanted from Lowes, used a nice coupon code and got a great price and great service from all. Check them out.

If you have a Costco membership they usually have one on sale, plus they include a 2 year warranty and delivery/hookup/haulaway.

KitchenAid is part of Whirlpool and the products are close to identical. So if you don’t like Whirlpool...

Whirlpool makes a lot of the brands including Maytag, Kitchenaid and more.

Why not new rack wheels for now?

You don;t have furnace / AC / stove - fridge - washer - dryer.....etc....etc.. repair insurance?

I agree no go GE dishwasher. But GE fridges and especially stoves are fantastic. As for dishwasher, Whirlpool makes half of them as it is. I like the Kenmore Dishwashers, but they are made by Whirlpool.

Exactly!!!!

Just like Washers, no dishwasher bought today will perform better than a 20 year old new in box model.

The dept. of Energy/EPA has gutted the dishwasher, they can perform way better if they used more water.

My kenmore dishwasher cleans pretty well. But its trays are sabotaged against being useful. Seems only dinner plates fit in the lower level "prongs" and there's limited real estate upstairs.

It also takes an hour 40 minutes to do the job, basically steaming the food particles off. Uses something like 4 gallons of water per wash.

I'd still buy it again, maybe find some different trays that fit.
