How Many Miles Have You Driven?

Much less now at 65 and retired.

I tried to find homes close to my work over the years. But I did decent chunks of longer commutes, miles racked quickly. But 20K year was not crazy for me, sometimes more.

Ima go with ca 850,000-900,000 miles all total in 50 years of driving which kinda sorta meets up with the amounts I have put on cars total.

Then there is my wife. That might be her total for a couple years. :)

About 450k miles between all vehicles I’ve owned over the past 15 years. Factoring in company vehicles and rentals probably close to 475k.

I got my permit in mid-2014 and my license in mid-2015.

I'd estimate I've driven 250-275k miles over the past decade - I've put 125k or so on my Camry in the past five and a half years (almost all of those miles being mine), put 25k or so on my first car in the three years I had it, and put a good chunk of the miles on each of my folks' cars over the years - the 2010 and 2017 Siennas (I often drive those on road trips) plus two of my dad's cars. Add in mileage from driving friends/extended family cars, plus rentals, and I bet the total is not too far from 300k.

As far as pacing, I've driven around 40k miles per year the past two years and 20-30k per year the four years before that.

Unsurprisingly, I like to drive a lot and will often come up with an excuse to do so. I was raised on very frequent weekend trips in the 500-750 mile range (often to see family a state away), and kept those up through and past college.

Nobody will ever beat Irv Gordon. 3.2 million miles on Castrol GTX.

Well, I figure before I was 18 and driving my own cars I did about 5k mile. 29 now. Since then:
'96 Chevy C1500: 15k
'97 Camry: 8k
'04 Beetle: 17k
'00 Camry: 37k
'96 Cherokee: 30k
'15 Sonata: 56k
'15 Genesis: 26k
'21 Model 3: 2k
'14 Grand Cherokee: 35k
'07 Sonata: 8k
'18 Genesis: 8k
Driving other's cars: 25k
Total: 267k miles

No idea what I put on my parents minivan, Silverado, and caliber as a teenager, but I started driving on a permit at 15 and got my license and a job at 16. 29 years old now.
Roughly 20k on the Kia.
50k on the Durango.
Roughly 20k on my Caliber.
Roughly 25k on the 300.
Truck is sitting at almost 48k now.
We’ve put roughly 64k on the van, most of those miles were from my wife though. I’ll claim 10k of that.

173k miles excluding whatever I did as a teenager.

I got my drivers license in 1968. I will say this….I have commented to my wife that ‘ I’ve backed up more miles than you’ve driven forward ‘ ! ;) 🚛

😆
When she drives in the front left, I grab my KJB and sit in the right rear and get into the word. Kinda wanted to make a sign to post in the window as people go by,"Help Me, Taken Against My Will"

No idea but since I got my MC license 50 years ago most of the miles/km were on bikes. Not really a car fan, some are okay and some I actually liked but most are nothing more than an appliance with heat and and a place keep out of the rain and snow for me.

My best estimate is 965,000 since I started driving in about 1980. There is no age limit for unplated farm vehicles in Iowa, so I was driving farm machinery on the road at about ten years of age. At 13 I was pulling tandem 650 bushel grain wagons and would scale right around 140k lbs. That will put fear into you if you're paying attention, I paid attention. As soon as I got a drivers license, I drove the semi hauling grain, again no need for anything but an operator's license. I never got a CDL, because I didn't need it. Since college, I drive a lot to see people and do things and to test oil.

Driving since 1975, I'd venture to say close to a million miles, possibly a little more.

Ffty years of driving and I'm going to guesstimate around 900K total, mostly in own vehicles but some in company cars and rentals.
My commute for the past nearly thiry years has been around 12K a year, set to come to an end mid-year, as this year I think I actually will retire after talking about it for the past two.
