The job is only supposed to last for a couple of weeks (fill-in work due to a full-time employee's sick family member), and the work is for (Lord forgive me) Fiat, but it's decent cash flow for a little while, which beats what I've had lately.

On a side note, my schoolwork is going well, and I'm making better grades than I thought I would. I should have my RN nursing degree in under 2 years. Looking forward to transitioning to a different line of work.

Is it using SolidWorks?

...Still working, and probably will be for another couple of weeks at least. The gig is not right for me long term, but it's nice coin while it lasts.

Take the money and run. I odd jobbed for nearly 3 yrs. between 3/04 and 1/07 and almost miraculously came across my present job. It isn't a perfect match, but it pays the bills. When I was getting my breast cancer treatments, I chatted up the techs. Most were people I could hang out with socially. Made me wish, I had gone into nursing when the 'Yard closed back in 86.

I think nursing now is starting to meet demand. Take a peek at growing jobs and nursing is not there. If it interests you though go for it.

Nursing jobs are becoming harder to score. The market is flooded with new grads. Used to be my lovely spouse could apply on a Monday, and be working the following week. She has more letters behind her name than in it, but even with a PhD in Healthcare Administration, she has been looking for months without so much as a nibble.

The job market is very tough for most professions.

The medical field is: who you know and how much of a push you get from a person within that organization.

Long story short: I accepted a full time position with the company, on MY terms. Good job, decent money, ample time to work on my nursing degree. Happy.

I am not. I have worked in the defense industry, and I know the local Army base has civilian nurses on base, so I may pursue a nursing position there once I graduate.

Congrats!! I was out if work for the first time in my life in 2008. Painful experience.

Remember, demand creates jobs, not businesses!

It sure is.

ProEngineer is the defacto 3D client at work, a fam member uses Inventor and I'm still holding on to ACAD 2007 - which is excellent for 2D work.

Considering the demographics, you should be employable and busy in healthcare for a long long time.
