Demand For New Malibu Exceeds Supply

"...GM anticipated big demand for the new Malibu, but not to the extent the automaker has seen since the car hit showrooms Nov. 1."

After years of unexciting mid-size cars, looks like GM finally got it right!

I guess they were so accustomed to building just enough sedans to meet the rental car companys' demands that public demand caught them off guard. Good for them. If I was looking for a car in its category, I'd go drive one. It's light years ahead of that last one.

40.4 ft turning diameter? Whoa! And here i thought my car with a 37 ft turning diameter was difficult to park...

Nice car though.

I have to disagree with that. Pontiac has been "building excitement" for years (or at least trying to make people believe they are). I think the demand for this car is really about it looking like GM has finally decided to build a really outstanding car. Not one that just shoots for the Accord/Camry target, but one that realistically aims to surpass those cars. Time will tell if they succeed in pulling it off, but clearly, potential customers who look at and drive this car come away very impressed. Kudos to GM.

It's on the GM Epsilon platform which has Opel and Saab origins.

So are the Pontiac G6 and Saturn Aura.

That is also what they get for making it look good, unlike previous Malibu cars.

Making it look like the Pontiac G6 worked. Many people like the look of the Pontiac G6.

I drove my parents away from their Pontiac fetish for an Accord, although my dad still drives his 2002 Sunfire coupe. He thinks he's Burt Reynolds. But I have to say I do like the look of the G6.. If Pontiac could make a better Grand Prix for those of us that can't afford these Aussie uber cars, that would be better.
