Bought an old Buick station wagon from local funeral home several years ago(actually used for corpse transport between furneral homes). We used it as family car, kids thought it cool!!! Called it the "Meat Wagon".

Mwahahaha!

That could be from Celebrity Jeopardy with Sean Connery (Darrell Hammond) like this one:

"I'll take the rapists for 200." (therapists)

"Chalk-full", instead of chock-full

Another I like is "Pullet-Surprise". I think this was reported (as a mis-spelling) by columnist William Safire.

I can claim a steak...but I can't steak a claim.

Apparently some people who post on the various automotive sites on the 'net have cars with brake "peddles" and front and rear "bumbers." Seeing these drives me almost as crazy as seeing the previously mentioned "Dextron" transmission fluid.

I normally consider misspellings as simple typos rather than illiteracy, but when I see someone on this board whip out the "I" word (irregardless) I can't help but cringe. THAT'S NOT A WORD!!!

"Then there is MarkC – he is good at proper word usage….and he never makes an error…… OOPS."

Please, if you find an actual spelling error or word used improperly in anything I post, let me know. Learning from mistakes is a good thing. Typographical errors and spelling errors are usually easily differentiated.

I particularly enjoy words used incorrectly.

Elude vs. Allude
Infer vs. Imply

Malapropisms are funny.

# He had to use a fire distinguisher.
# Dad says the monster is just a pigment of my imagination.
# Isn't that an expensive pendulum round that man's neck?
# Good punctuation means not to be late.
# He's a wolf in cheap clothing.
# Michelangelo painted the Sixteenth Chapel.
# My sister has extra-century perception.
# "Don't" is a contraption.
