A few years ago, I purchased a Fumoto Valve for my Grand Caravan. When I went to work at the Ford dealership in town, it was the same price to have them change my oil as it was to do it myself. And, when I had them do it, they washed and vacuumed it out.

I removed the Fumoto Valve because I didn't want to slow up the oil change process for them. Now that I am back to doing my own oil changes, I want to reinstall the Fumoto Valve. I can't remember if it came with any type of washer or gasket to seal it up to prevent leaks. Does anyone know?

OK, I just looked on Fumoto's web site. Thegood thing is that it will fit on my 2009 Chrysler Town and Country. This vehicle will see more oil changes/miles. So, I will install it on that vehicle instead. Since I have apparently lost the gasket, should I replace it with a nylon gasket or a copper crush washer?

Nylon gasket.

But my favorite oil drain plug gasket is an "Oil-Tite". Its a steel outside and rubber inside.

Given in your case you will not be removing the valve, nylon gasket.

A nylon gasket will be softer than both the valve and pan, ensured my a good seal AND no damage to the seating surfaces.

It won't matter much if you plan to leave the valve installed indefinitely.

Hello, +1 to what Donald said about the "Oil-Tight" gasket. Heck, that style gasket was employed on an A/C compressor I installed.

Be cautious about cheap, brittle plastic washers.

Hey OP, your Fumoto didn't leak? That's good. Kira

I think mine came with a fiber one.

I had put a magnetic plug at first and the cheap blue flexible nylon one it came with crushed and was causing rather major leaking and loose plug. I will NEVER use that kind EVER again.

I can't recall if i used the nylon washer that came with it or if I used a copper washer I bought for the magnetic's replacement at first.
