Took a flight on a Dreamliner last month aboard LOT Polish. It was nice primarily because it was a new aircraft, not yet worn and torn by the passengers. Fairly quiet, too. The one thing that was immediately noticeable was the curvature of the wings and how much it flexed in the air.

This one may have more flex than most. If memory serves the wings have a fair amount of carbon fiber in them.

As I understand it, the flex on the wings of the 787 is more pronounced than on any other model. I understand that a significant amount of material in the wings is a synthetic or carbon fiber material, and I believe that the 787's wings are "flexier" than other wings.

No noticeable difference.

I flew on it a few months ago. The wings flex big time! Other noticeable features are the windows. They are huge compared to anything else out there. Controlled by some kind of a photo cell, no actual shade, you just push a button and instant dark. Very cool.

Didn't realize the FAA had lifted the no fly on the 787s.

Now that the problems have been sorted, I'd like to fly one, but I doubt I will. SWA likes their 737s

True, but it was a general question. I have flown on nearly every US airline and none of them compare to the configuration of the planes in the East.

They lifted it a while ago.

The 737-800 will give you a taste of the 787. It has the same "Sky Interior" with the new bin design, LEDs, mood lighting, etc. I had it once:

You're correct in that the wings flex more than traditional wings do. The 787's wings are designed to flex up and make a smooth transition into a "winglet", rather than a hard "90" degree bend.

Looks cool. I wish airplanes didn't freak me out so much... I'd like to take a flight. However, with my anxiety, I'm confined to road trips in the Accord (which is still fun).

Totally forgot about these. Really cool, indeed.

Yeah I liked 787 too. I would not say that it has more leg room than others, but again it is spec. per Flight carrier. I expected Emirates to have much better planes than others, especially A380-800. Don't know about business and first class, but economy look almost the same as Air New Zealand's new B 777. Should try business class next time.
