All I know about you is that you grew up in the poor communist Yugoslavia where hardly anyone owned a car and then went through the horrors of the Bosnian War. I don't even know if you're a Serb or a Bosniak. You are probably still traumatized by the war and perhaps still having nightmares about it. However, this is no excuse for this disturbing psychotic behavior.

You keep making assumptions about me and my posts, but you're all wrong. You say I spend the all day here and yet you have about twice the number of posts. Why do you have to keep projecting at strangers on what/who/how they are? Why are you singling me out in your attacks?

Please, leave this here. Enough is enough. I am serious. This is highly disturbing. It's some of the worst Internet bullying I've ever seen.

Lol, you make bunch of assumptions (by the way, I work with bunch of PhD's and their knowledge of history is much better than yours, and they are by no means historians), about who grew up where, and how poor etc. For a PhD, one with "bunch" of peer reviewed papers it is pretty thin. What was it? University of Phoenix?
On Porsche A40, you are changing again your story. Now you are saying it is vague statement?
So, wait:
1. Porsche A40 can damage engine? Check.
2. Porsche A40 can damage engine because DPF. Check.
3. Porsche A40 can (vaguely) damage engine. Check.
What is it? Can it damage engine? Can it damage DPF? How it can damage DPF?
It is not bullying, it is calling your BS. Same with interstate 15 etc. You are trying to establish yourself as some "thin" oil guru here. Fine, but you are going in wrong direction as you ignoring people who know much, much more than you do on this topic and constantly pushing your assumptions. That is fine. But, problem is that someone might take you seriously.

I guess it's OK to viciously bully someone on the Internet because they shared their particular driving experience or opinion about going with the oil specd for your car instead of an oil specd for an entirely different car.

Fine, you win -- you drew on steeper grades and/or in higher altitudes than me and ACEA A3/B4 is perfectly good for cars equipped with DPF, any latest TGDI engine, etc.

May I know if you're a Serb or Bosniak, just out of curiosity? (I don't want to start anything about it -- both are fine people.)

Now, let's go back and remind us who said that?

OK, it's my bad if I misinterpreted you.

So, A3/B4 is not OK for any car then?

No it is not, but it will not damage engine. Why it is not good? Well, explain to us, you said it will damage engine, so tell us how?
You are oil guru. You brought it up, but still did not explained to us.

I think the word I used was "harm," not damage. I was referring to SAPS levels and viscosity of A3/B4, not the Porsche engine tests. Of course, the more OEM tests, the better, and there is nothing wrong with Porsche stress-testing A3/B4 oils.

Higher SAPS levels will increase the IVD and will clog the DPF faster (I see the exhaust system as part of the engine). If an engine calls for 0W-16 or 0W-20, it was probably designed and tested for that and running 0W-40 may not be the most optimal viscosity. Some say specd viscosity doesn't matter but it's not obvious. Nevertheless, the SAPS level would be my main worry. If you want a thick oil, a CK-4/SN PLUS HDEO would be a better choice as a universal oil than an A3/B4 oil in my opinion, as the SAPS level is designed for DPF (although on the high side of mid-SAPS) and other SAPS-sensitive parts and components, and yet, TBN holds strong.

Should we leave this there? It's a waste of time to dwell into nitpicking oil.

It's probably more interesting if you tell us about Bosnia in the 90s, before, during, and after war. Again, are you a Bosniak?

PS: I know you're joking (although hard to tell with you) but no, PhD at major research university and a couple of postdocs at other major research universities.

I'm surprised this thread hasn't been locked down because of "bickering" ... plenty of other threads do for way less than in this one.

I always look at it this way. If a veteran poster has a question, there are probably dozens of other people reading the board with the same question. While much got derailed, it was clearly a good enough question to attract this many pages!

The pot calling the kettle black...

If BITOG had a prize for the most consistently inconsistent poster, you would win it by a country mile.

And in case your selective memory has already kicked in, here's a reminder for you...

0W20 + VII = 5W40.

Haha...

I guess you could just start every post this way " I'm really smart....", i don't think I have ever met anybody on any forum bragging so much.....

No, not at all, I hate it more than you do having to post my degree. You didn't follow the precursor.

It was in response to edyvw's vicious cyberbullying. He stated that my only qualification was having been born to this world. His two-and-a-half-year-old was smarter than me. Then, he said my degree must have been from University of Phoenix.

Nevertheless, you are right that I should have ignored him. It's a waste of time and needless dump of negative energy.

Hey SonofJoe,

Blame it on my lack of experience and ignorance in oil blending if I was grossly wrong that 0W-20 + VII = 0W-40.

Could you explain what happens when I move the VII in that equation to the other side?

0W-40 - VII = ?

In other words, what happens when you gradually remove the VII from an actual 0W-40 such as M1 FS 0W-40?

Thanks in advance.

So, logic goes that all things considered, we should take your word? That we will say: oh man, he has PhD and some post docs so there you go, while at the same time you characterize road grade based on "looks" and "feeling." Last time I checked, in any science, looks and feeling do not count as facts.
You really think just because you have PhD you are smarter than anyone in this discussion (pick anyone you want)?
No wonder you have several post docs. There is only one reason why people get pos doc, and it is not because they miss school.

Keeping a 35 year old sports car running this long is one thing, but keeping a 35 year old POS going, that's a different story.

Not saying Ghokan is a genius or Einstein, but not many actual geniuses like top scientists actually drive a corvette or any sort of sports car, nor do they brag about their wife's BMW.. It just seems like a puerile comment by an 'ape'...

Don't forget that "sonofjoe" once bragged that the US educational system is idiotic and far inferior to the British one....
