Recently changed the plugs on my wife's 2002 V6 Explorer. The old ones had a reddish coloration on them. I have used the Neutra/FP blend for at least a year, maybe not in every tank, but I do try to remember to keep up with the applications. I wanted to know if the Neutra/FP caused the plug coloration or if it could be something else?

I've used both and my plugs were EXTREMELY clean. The coloration is probably just additives from the brand of gas. Which brand do you use regularly?

Never saw Neutra or FP due anthing but clean the crud off the center electrode.

If it is red, then you probably had some dissolved metallics in the fuel.

I just remembered that I did add a 3 oz tube of MMT to the mix, over the counter stuff I got at Discount Auto. I will dig a plug from the garbage and take a pic.

Does the ratio of Neutra to FP make a difference? I think I have a 50/50 mix right now between the Neutra/FP and then the 3 oz tube of MMT.

I don't add the mix every tank, maybe every other or every third if I remember to do it.

We fuel up anywhere, no preferences.
