And here we thought that opening up oil filter boxes in the store aisle was weird.....

To answer the question, ahhh no. Though, I do open the box to inspect the filter before any purchase.
Not on a Fram I wouldn't. You may get the ADBV lodged in your esophagus, and have a REAL problem! (OCOD!)
