I'm new here and I find reading about oil and filters oddly fascinating. I am currently running Fram TG7317 on both my Honda's. Prior to that I used WIX, Mobil 1, and mainly OEM. I honestly don't notice a difference between the filters. I run full synthetic in both vehicles and change my oil and filter at 7,500 miles. My wife's CRV is about 60/40 hwy/city and my Civic is 100 hwy. I guess my question is how many people run Fram TG filters?

Sounds about perfect for your use. I use them on my Ford Taurus. Here's a shot from my stash. I get them from Rock Auto when they discount them.

Well, they must be good sellers because they're still on the market.
But, I agree that they are close in price to the ULTRA making them almost moot.

TG's are great filters and more than meet most peoples OCI needs. At the regular everyday price at Walmart of 6.64 and 99 plus percent efficiency at 20 microns and widely available What more do you need? Well maybe a filter 99% plus efficiency at 10 microns.

With Walmart's new pricing, TGs are $9 now. If your store hasn't gone up yet, it will shortly.
I like the new Fram EGs with silicone ADBV for (new pricing) $5.69. Or a Wix for around $7.99.... or a STP XL (Champ) for around $8.
Some areas of the country have the better-grade Premium Guard with silicone ADBV. That's a nice filter for $6-7.

Less than two years ago, anyone could get a Tough Guard for around $5.69. Not anymore and raising the price almost 40% is ridiculous. I would boycott them.

I doubt you would notice and difference between any major name oil or oil filters.

I have run Tough Guards on my Ranger 4L V6. They work perfectly for the 5K and 6K mile oil changes I have been doing.

Sometimes Walmart runs out of stock so they probably do sell well.

I have used the tough guards for several years. Have disassembled them and they look great even after a couple of years on a tractor. However, with the price increase, I am now using Ultras.

I run OEM filters now, but have been very tempted to try a TG filter, they do seem to be very good.

Unless you get them on sale, very pricey up here.

I am running Honda OEM filters and figure they must be fairly close to the TG. Made by Fram anyway.

I have been running them since I got a deal for four of them at WM for two dollars each. Couldn't go wrong and I have been happy with them. I wouldn't pay regular price for them however.

I remember there was a discussion here on bitog that Honda OEM is extra guard, not the tg

Op go grab some FPS on eBay, they're the same as ultra and cost $6.
I made a post about it some time ago
