Do yall consider your ride(s) as an extension of your

Public roads are not race tracks. Many people find their excitement in other ways which are not hard on the vehicles (not built excessive for their intended use) or risking the innocent lives of others.

I'd agree re; race tracks- with the exception of the Stoplight Grand Prix. My vehicles have survived remarkably well considering I beat on the M42 in the Club Sport like a red-headed stepchild- and tend to take corners and interstate ramps at double the posted advisory speed i everything I own save the Wrangler...

Nope, a necessary tool I needed.
The older you get the less you care about vehicles.

I own a WRX manual. I commute in heavy traffic every day. It's the perfect car if you want sport, affordability, practicality, and safety.

I'm glad that you like your car, but it's not ideal to me to drive a manual in heavy traffic, and it's not very safe on the same roads as much more massive SUVs and pickups. Crash test data means little when it's put up against a vehicle that weighs 50% more and more rigid frame... that sits higher too.

You can be a flawless driver and still have a texting teenager or drunk ram into you... just sitting at a stop light. Still beats a motorcycle by a long shot.

That is the exact criteria we used when shopping for our latest washer and dryer.
Don't get me started about washers! The new energy saving ones, whether side or top load, are a joke to anyone who gets their clothes dirty, except Speed Queen.

In this case you are likely to get triple the lifespan out of spending 70% more. That's often not least impact or cost, throwing away things and buying disposable appliances again.

I’m 63 and I’m looking at an M2 Competition with a manual gearbox. I can’t ever imagine settling for an anodyne soul-crushing appliance.

My biggest car is 175” long and weighs @3600 pounds- and I also have a Speed Triple 900 with six piston front calipers and a Sebring “Racing use only” 3 into 1 exhaust.
I’ll take my chances.

I just purchased a F250 7.3 L.
Not an appliance but a necessity...
Other than that I collect properties...so vehicles to me are
big fat wastes of money but I need them...
To each his own ya know...

My autos and trucks no. I consider them useful appliances that were purchased to fulfill my needs.

My custom toys I built and modified myself I consider an extension of my personality.

I’ve collected enough properties.

Looks like you need a new ride from your signature.
Good luck with your new ride!

The 2 Series has been in the garage for nearly five years; most every car I’ve considered as a replacement costs considerably more money than I want to spend. I may well hang onto it for another year or two as it’s in perfect condition and it’s certainly not a penalty box.

You're old enough to know better but don't seem to be able to learn now, so you shouldn't have a driver's license. That's a short abbreviation of a longer rant where I know that nonsense and grew out of it.

If you don't value your life then at least give your family notice, then that is what a race track is for, not public roads.

WRX - about 3.3K pounds.

Forester - about 3.4K pounds.

GLC 300 - about 3.9K pounds.

Pilot - about 4.3K pounds.

F150 4x4 Crew Cab 5.5 - about 4.8K pounds.

X5 - about 5.2K pounds.

We're not exactly talking about "much more massive", unless you're proposing everyone should drive lifted commercial trucks as in F250 Tremors.

An elevated, heavier vehicle is also more prone to being involved in a roll over, has less stability at higher speeds, and is far worse in a single vehicle crash. All it takes is someone to tap your truck's rear end from the side (like in a pit maneuver) at highway speeds, and there won't be much of anything you can do.

So let's not pretend there aren't ups and downs in either choice. Bigger doesn't automatically mean safer.

Oh I get it now, you're just trolling. Shame on me.
Don’t mind him, he thinks anybody who doesn’t follow the exact letter of the law should be thrown in prison and have their drivers license burned in front of them with no hope of ever getting it back. He’s gone so far as to advocate harm/property damage against others for relatively minor things.
