Good morning. I lost the keys/alarm remote to my 2007 Pontiac G6. I bought a new transponder key from the dealership, and thought it simple enough to program it according to a few Google searches, and YouTube videos. However, we had to cut the alarm wire to stop it from constantly going off (due to no remote) now the alarm is off, but I still was unable to program the key. Since the car isn't drive-able right now my question is should I have it towed to the dealership to have the key programmed, OR should I have it towed to a car alarm shop to remove the alarm first, and then try again to program the key myself. Also, on my dash there is a picture of a car with a lock through it (anti theft icon)FYI I searched that if I put the key in the ignition for 10 min in the run position, and remove and repeat 2 more times that should program the key. Is this not working due to the cut alarm wire??? HELP!!
