Clogged filter photos

Sorry, it's not an automotive filter.
Came out of a heat exchanger that was flowing about 10% of normal.
With direct sunlight shining through it looked totally opaque.
Last shot is the "clean" side.

That's just disgusting, and reminds me that mine is due to be changed here shortly.

Looks like it did its job though. They are lucky the frame held on the other side, that kind of restriction can easily cause frame distortion then ripping if there is enough CFMs behind it.

Do you know what kind of filter that was? I'd posted this 3M Filtrete FPR8 Furnace Filter in this thread earlier this year. Not nearly as bad, but still really dirty. I'll be pulling another from a 3-month service interval on Sunday and am interested to see how it looks.

It was a Koch 10X24" in use 24/7 for about a year.

Did you run an oil analysis on your air conditioner to see its silicon content?
