Cleanest wheels on same axle or same side of car?

I say.....
Clean your wheels and shoot 'em with Armorall. Future dirt sticks way less.

I don't prefer alloys as they're an added, worthless expense.

However, I love to see alloys on a "2-at-a-time" tire buyer. The rears are clean and the fronts often look rusted or black with dust.

Yes, but if every single car of that model has them, you're not going to find steel stamped rims for them. I do admit that they look good but it's a little too extreme now with low profile tires. They're easy to get scratched up when parking as the side of the rim hits the curb first, not the tire. In the past you never had to worry about the rim as the tire bulged out. Now I have to use my passenger mirror to look at my back tire to make sure it doesn't get too close to the curb. Nothing to be done about the front but home I steer it just enough not to scrape the curb.
