Nice work! Have you considered verifying the flow rate through the bypass system? I installed bypass filters on my AT's and found that the flow rate was only 1oz per minute. After I drilled out the restrictor in the mount it flowed much better.
I verified mine when I installed it. I have the exact same setup on the same car except mine is a 2003 TDI.
In my haste, I mounted the system fill my crankcase with oil and started the car. Looked under the car and at least 2 quars of oil were all over the ground.
Yup forget to put the filter on. But it will flow. It probalby wan't on for more than 20-30 seconds. What a mess it was too 2 quarts of sooty diesel oil all over the driveway.
(saying to myself--I'm not a mechanic) Hence the reason I don't install these things on others vehicles. I'm not a mechanic.
