Am I wasting money with Amsoil/Schaeffers?

It's currently -6C here (21F) which is pretty nice to go out for a jog in if I wouldn't be slipping all over from the fresh snow, which makes it a bit difficult. Still may go out though.
If it's not too windy it's not too bad, otherwise you freeze your face off. You just have to go slow that's all.

I've been there, still am to an extent. Looked at Ravenol, Amsoil, and other ways to spend $$ and make me feel good. Decided that M1 EP or Castrol Edge EP are more than good enough for my situation. I change at 5K +/-, which is about 1X per year, and according to some I'm wasting $$ and good oil. Maybe, but I'm happy. You can't go wrong with what you're doing, but you may do just as well for less $$. I enjoy overspending on filters, too.

That's about where I am at. Very well said.

If it makes you happy and the money spent does not bother you. We make choices all the time on spending more or less on items.

I agree with ZZman. If it makes you feel better use it. I have no doubt that these pricey oils will perform excellently in your vehicles while off the shelf products might also do quite well. When it comes to sleeping well...........

Well the OP was escorted off the premises so we'll never know how well he sleeps.

If I was going to own a vehicle "forever" and pass it down to my children in their estate, I would use the best oil I could find regardless of price.

On a new vehicle, I try to use economy synthetics, like SuperTech full syn.

On my work truck or older car that "I just want it to last a long while", I am using the cheapest quality oil I can find, like SuperTech or QS AD.
