Accidental use of 5w30 instead of 5w20

The engine is OK. No worries
The only thing is, make sure you add a quart of anti freeze to that 5w30 in the winter time to keep it from freezing.

The only thing it tells me is that GM is too cheap to include a proper thermostatically regulated oil cooler in its performance cars and recommends a ridiculously thick grade as a bandaid instead.
