A cold morning in Southern Vermont Green Mountains.

I fired my Ram truck up at 0600 Saturday to plow a huge snow drift blocking the driveway. It was parked outside and started right up, but the plow hydraulics were STIFF. Dash temp read -22F.

Our Expedition was parked inside an unheated garage and started easily at 0730, the dash temp read -10F. As I drove away from our house the temperature on the dash quickly dropped and bottomed out at -31F. The air temperature was not the lowest I can remember, but the wind chill Friday evening into Saturday morning was nearly -50F and the worst I have experienced.

It was -13 when I ran out to do some errands Saturday morning. I don't know what battery the Grand marquis has, but I need to get one for everthing! Spun over like it was 80 out! But the transmission pump whining indicated that it was cooler than that.

The furnace fuel line either froze or gelled up. Not ideal whatever it was. Had to heat it with a torch to get the furnace going when it was -5 out.
