As I stated before, I wouldn't be shocked to see the oil come back with good numbers for the 18k mile analysis. I was expecting the insolubles to be back down to .4%, but .1% seems to be weird. The insolubles dropped at the 12k point before the filter change, therefore telling me that this is possible again without a filter change. All of the other numbers are similar to what we have seen before. I am sure Mobil1 would've made it no problem, without another filter change, to the 1 year point and beyond.

IMHO, the only thing gained out of the filter change at the 12k point was fresh oil.

Strange, strange. Looks to me like we could have kept going. How is it possible for insolubles to vary so much? What the **** is going on with viscosity and TBN?

I would have dumped it that last sample, this one for sure. Don't worry about the oil. It was getting bad for awhile with the high copper and the other jumps, I think dumping it is wise here.
