My 3rd oil change and went with Kendall Synth Blend I got at Big Lots for cheap $$...not bad at all for the price! Replaced it with 5W30 Valvoline Syn Power Synthetic (bogo at AA)

Filter used was AC Delco PF457G with no waviness that I saw in the same filter I pulled out from the factory on 1st change

So far I've used Valvoline A/C, Castrol GTX, Kendall GT-1 Synth Blend and now Syn Power...avg mpg is a low of 29 to high of 36...very happy with the mpg of the HHR.

That engine looks great. Finished break-in quicker than most other engines I've ever seen. I'd say you have a keeper in that HHR

Gonna try 5k next time around?

Nice report Goose.

I'm at 7200 miles on this OCI on my HHR (Syntec). OLM is at 25%.

Being swapped out for PP in a couple of weeks. Going to send it out for a UOA.

I have a 03' eco-tec in Saturn L200 and I use the OLM mine doesn't count down, it just comes on. It is usually 7K-7.5K. I used Mobil 5000 at 5K OCI and ran mobil 1 by the OLM, PP by the OLM and now running Havoline Full Synthetic and have 15qts scrounged up at Big Lots all over TN. Any thoughts on this oil coming back to market. It seems to agree with my eco. I love the HHR but I wish it was built in America.

Based on the report, are you driving 3-4k mi every 1-1/2 months? It looks like your engine is going to last a long time - longer than the body will with the NH winters. I am interested in seeing your Feb. report after running the engine in Jan.

Nice numbers Goose!

I think better than the Matrix...

You'll have no problems with the engine.

I'll be at 100k before the end of this year easy. 1/4 of the my goal of 400k...

Thanks for the UOA!

I "think" the OLM was around 65-66% Cute

Those numbers are about right Prof....I avg about 31K a year...you shall see that report!

So far so good Bill! I thank the GM gods for the Ecotec engine...they seem to have a winner with this one. Was nervous about the change in makes from Toyota to Chevy but so far so good...little bit less quality QC with the Chevy with some little things that need to be addressed but nothing major

When is you next UOA for us to see! ??

Will be having a 4000 mile run on the Outback this next week. That is with the last of Halvoline 5w30 DS and a Purlator filter.

Then I figure a UOA with PP 5w30 in the Corolla around the mid November with 7500 miles.

I really like the HHR. *If* I did not buy the Outback last Jan, I would be driving one today. Your UOAs are showing it to have a real nice motor.
