    BMW B58 Engine Oil Recommendation

Been a while since I’ve been here. Logged in and saw and thought what a coincidence. Anyway 2023 BMW 840 with the B58. Did my first oil change today at 5,000 miles Went with 0w30 BMW oil. It’s LL-01fe and SP. Sticker on the hood says 0w20 but the manual specs 0w20 or 0w30. Then is says don’t...

Thanks. Going to go to Walmart. Drain, replace washer. Fill with new oil. Currently ordering 10 filters. Will hold off as long as I can to do a full change.

    Nothing goes right

Seems like a lot of my life goes like this. My car was 1 quart low so I added a quart. Drove to work and home and checked the oil. No dipstick, one of those fancy electronic things. It was over filled. Crap. And it is 13 degrees outside. Decided to loosen the drain plug to get a little oil out...

New Walmart Super Tech Full Synthetic oil

I just look down on everyone. It keeps life simple. If they drive a cheaper car than me, it's because they can't afford one like me, if they drive a more expensive car it's because they are trying to show off, and if they drive the same car as me it is because they want to be like me.

Thanks guys. The Porsche forums seem easily excitable. Back to Castrol or Mobil 1 from Walmart it is. Except when they have a special on pennzoil at the auto parts store.

So I guess I am an amateur oil enthusiast. Until a couple weeks ago never heard of LSPI or SN plus. Don't have any new American or Japanese or Korean DI turbo engines. What I'd do have is a bunch of Germans with DI and/or turbos. So looking for oil advice. There seems to be some discussion about...

    mobilube PTX/ Porsche

The parts manual for my Porsche calls for mobilube PTX 75w90 in some places and Porsche brand 75w90 in others. Are these the same fluid?

    Porsche 75w90

It “expired” in 2017. So even if it is good in your Porsche for 12 years tonthem it is worthless. It’s is $40/liter now. I paid $117 which including shipping when I bought it. I tried to sell it on the Porsche forums a couple times. No luck. So I’m either at recycle it or use it up

    Porsche 75w90

I bought 5 quarts of Porsche 75w90 diff fluid about 3 years ago. Sold the car and havebeen staring at the fluid for the last 3 years. According to the bottle it expired in 2017 and was made in 2015. I don't put much stock in that since the service interval fof the fluid in the diff is 12 years...
