    Dexos D alternative

Thanks all, very helpful. Glad I'm not stuck with the dealership or Rock Auto (They're great, but sometimes shipping cost is painful).

    Dexos D alternative

We just purchased a new 2023 Suburban with the 3.0 Duramax, our first diesel. GM calls for 0W-20 Dexos D certified oil, which sadly, is in short supply. I'd like to find an alternative oil that I can be confident in and that's readily available. I've tried cross-referencing certifications that...

2015 Odyssey - Which synthetic ATF?

Another Maxlife user here happy with the results. Based on my research here, did two drain and fills a few weeks ago with ML on my 2015 Ody (super easy DIY job, as previously stated). Shifts well, and hopefully I'll avoid the dreaded transmission woes.

    M1 Syn 0W-40...swing and a miss

Thanks for the input. And thanks for confirming I likely don't have need for concern. Maybe I'll cruise the local "markts" and see what I can find. Oil here is expensive though!

    M1 Syn 0W-40...swing and a miss

I'm having trouble following the logic (because this stuff quickly confuses me!). Getting a thicker at-temp oil, such as XW-50, makes sense to me. But I'm not following the benefit of getting a thicker weight for cold, such as the 15W-40. Or does this just mean that I'm left to experimenting...

    M1 Syn 0W-40...swing and a miss

I figured the 0W-40 would be heavy enough to stop the consumption, so I'm surprised I'm still see so much. I don't believe I have many choices in the BX here, but I look again. If I have to, I'll spring for the pricey oil on the economy or try to line up a shipment of Amsoil or RL.

    M1 Syn 0W-40...swing and a miss

I ran M1 synthetic 5W-30 in my WRX for about 90k miles without a second thought. When I noticed the oil consumption early on, a quick search of Subaru sites revealed this was "normal." I thought nothing of it... Then I deployed to Iraq, got bored, discovered BITOG, a found the possible error of...

Anyone used Liqui-Moly or know of it?

After weeks of research on here, and due to the limited oil available to me in Germany, I just put some of the Liqui-Moly 0W-40 in my Subaru WRX. I don't have any hard data, but it is ACEA 3 rated which was what I was looking for. Other than that, I can only say it hasn't burned off at all...

Kumho ASX, anyone here have them?

I'm very happy with mine on my WRX. Compared to the HP tires I've run, the grip is still good but the ride quality is much, much better. Wear is pretty good as well. And for the money, tough to beat I'd think.

This gives me hope for my M1 holding up. I left my WRX 6 months ago with my girlfriend while I play in Iraq, and somehow she's managed over 7k miles on the car. For now I'll just pretend your data is similar to what's going on in my car
