Hello all,

Would I be able to use 0w-40 in a Yamaha 350 4x4 ATV? I am from PA and it has been in the low 90's and the winter can get to zero. THanks for the replies!

There's allot of VII's in that oil it may shear the h*ll out
of it,yea you can run it but i'd chage it out every 30-40 hr's.

i too have a warrior with the same engine i use Amsoil's MCV
a 20w50,seems to be holding up well,i don't run it in the winter tho.

I'm sorry, I read this wrong. I am using Amsoil 0W40, but I know many that are using Mobil1 0W40. Does the Bruin have a wet clutch? That would be the only problem that you may have. The Polaris is a belt automatic with a dry sump motor, so it isn't a problem.

Thanks for the replies. It is a wet clutch. The manual advises not to use diesel oil labeled CD or oils rated energy conserving II or higher.

Try Amsoil 0W40. It is safe for wet clutches. The Mobil1 may work without problems, but the Amsoil will for sure, it is JASO MA rated.

I use Amsoil 0w-40 ATV oil in my girlfriend's 04 Bruin 4x4 and have been for over a year and half now. It had the Yamaha oil in it when we bought it and started smoking on that oil at start-up. Since I switched to the synthetic, that has stopped.
I also run the Amsoil in my 05 Rancher and my son's 06 TRX 90.
