I think what Dave meant, after asking him this several times and I should have posted this, is that with RL you need to stick with it several times bc a lot of what one sees is a surface reaction with the additives. That is how he put it. He did say they use oil analysis as one method of testing their oils. He also mentioned trending as being important as well as looking at the whole report. Comparing 10ppm of Fe vs 6 Fe is silly and actually ridiculous. That was his point.

Well Redline will tell you UOA's do NOT provide a good indication of engine wear. In fact Dave has said repeatedly that if spectrographic analysis was the #1 way to measure wear, then they would formulate their oils to do well in these tests. They don't. They use www.analystsinc.com for their testing. Other then in house testing. A lot of Pb seen by RL is oxides.
