I have a 1985 Honda v65 sabre the only filters I can find are frams or oem.The frams are about $6.00-$7.00. Today I went on the wix web site to look up the filter it gave me part #51334 it is used on many cars. ....
If I X-reference a Fram PH6010A on the Wix website, I get the Wix 51334:
Height: 3.194
Outer Diameter Top: 3.252
Thread Size: 20X1.5 MM
By-Pass Valve Setting-PSI: 8-11
If I do the same on the Baldwin Filters website, I get the Baldwin B227:
Height: 2 27/32
Outer Diameter Top: 3
Thread Size: 20X1.5 MM
By-Pass Valve Setting-PSI: 20
If you've got the room, apparently both will screw on, but they don't look interchangeable. That should give you some pause about using yet another X-ref off the Wix number.
Purolator X-refs the Fram PH6010A to the ML16810:
Height: 2.95
Outer Diameter Top: 3.15
Threads: M20x1.5
Relief Valve P.S.I.: 12-15
You might want to take a look at the amount of room you've got. There are lots of folks out there on the Internet who've done reviews of interchanging motorcycle oil filters with various automotive part numbers.
Before I did it, though, I'd sure like to know what the specs of the OEM filter are.
