I don't even try to clean a Honda carburetor. A genuine Keihin carburetor is usually less than 20 bucks. If I'm working on something that needs one, I just replace the carb and move along.

I own three Honda engines -- a GCV190, a GCV160 and a GXV140. I store mine wet and haven't had the first issue with them. The GCV160 is 13 years old and the GXV140 is 15 years old. I replaced the carburetor on the GCV190 before I bought it, when my friend still owned it. It had sat unused for about 2 years when he was deployed seasonally and I was doing their lawn.
