That number has to be a joke, nine? I laughed when I heard that report, there's probably quite a few zeros after that nine.

Exactly. Do a quick search and you will see WAYYYYYY more than nine different results.

Maybe, but I still think its a lot more than nine, in fact nine is a crock of Bull IMO. I think they're taking a defensive stance hoping this doesn't turn uglier. Seem to me it's a lot of AAPL share holders trying to defend it. OTOH it could be people short AAPL talking about them bending, hoping it drops. But that's just my opinion. Either way I don't see one in my future.

Do some research.

There are only 9 cases. The rest are just people talking, re-sharing the same pictures, "haters", etc. The only reason this made such a big deal is because one of the tech reviewers tried bending it with his hand and that video generated millions of views.

The media will talk about anything they can get people interested in. And, let's face it, everyone is looking at APPLE!

Well, the above CU test was interesting.

The standard 6 had the lowest deformation force threshold of all phones tested, even less than a 6+. A 5 takes almost twice the force before bending.

Still, 70 lbs is a lot of force. It likely takes sitting on it before it becomes an issue.

The moral of the story - don't sit on phablets.

So, do you still believe the [censored] story from Apple that there were only 9? Here's 300.....

Aahh, so YOU are the guy torquing those factory oil filters to 300 pounds then, eh?

One hand tight.......
Not my fault my one hand is stronger than most men using 2 hands. 22 years of pounding nails and pumping lumber will do that to a guy.

My brother bought the 6 plus. Had it in his back pocket. He accidentally sat on it and it curved following the contour of his rear end.
He did straighten it though, and now leaves it in the trailer to avoid any potential mishaps.

My guess is they went with a curved shell to make it easier to slide in and out of pocket (round corners so it doesn't punch a hole in your pocket) and more drop tolerant. However they didn't expect people to sit on it as hard as they think.

It may not be a big issue for people that drive, but would be huge for those who take public transit with metal seats.

I bet my money that they will go with a straight shell and round edge design in the future instead of a completely circular edge, or add a solid beam to reinforce the case. Unless of course if they make it thinner again....

How many of those 300 were trying to bend it on purpose or creating a video about it bending? I'd say quite a few.

And, it's common sense. If you apply enough pressure to something, It will bend or break. NOT ROCKET SCIENCE.

Additionally, by my math... 300 out of 10 million * bending isn't BAD!

* - 10 million sales by the first weekend that figure is probably closer to 20 million now
