stuck castle nut

If the whole wheel and knuckle is turning as you say it is, take the key out of the ignition so the steering wheel locks. Then use a BOX end wrench or two doubled up for leverage.
The gear ratio in the steering rack will limit the pressure on the wheel lock and not be a problem. Dont resort to fire and chisels until you have immobilized the steering.

I found a big enough pipe that I could fit over my 19mm wrench and I used that as a breaker bar and it turned quite easily actually once the wheel was turned to it's max. I was worried about applying pressure on the wheel when it was at full turn but no problem, it just stayed there and the nut came loose. The pipe weighs about 30 or 40 lbs though lol.
