The 2.5 had that, not the 3.0. The 2.5 didn't drain oil out of the heads as fast at the 3.0, so at high RPMs on long sweeping RH turns, such as exit ramps, if you were below full on the dipstick, you ran the risk of spinning a bearing.

Running with an extra quart was usually enough to resolve the issue.

Those putting the 2.5L heads on the 3.0L to build a hybrid higher compression engine had to address the extra oil galleries in the 3.0L block.

Quite a few folks were dropping the Duratec 3.0 into Ford SVT Contours a few years back (as an upgrade from the standard 2.5). A number of them had oil starvation issues in high lateral G situations.....mind you, they were never intended for that application.
