What is the best indicator of how long a grease will stay put?
Is it the water washout test, the thickener(lithium, aluminum, etc.), or an additive in the grease?

Is the grease washed out, melted out, or squeezed out?

Wash out...the aluminum complex base is highly waterproof.

Melted out...check the temperature specs.

Squeezed out...tackifier additive helps.

Its for chassis lubrication. I'd assume its mostly squeezed out, and maybe some washout. The lithium complex I'm using now did better than the aluminum base on the water washout test, but does this test take into account the lithium complex emulsifying water over time? Its not really direct water spray that washes it out is it? Is it emulsification that causes the grease to lose its properties earlier and pound out, or does the water washout test prove it will stay put over time?
