The Valvoline Cobalt is a lithium sulfonate grease. I can't find much info regarding this type of grease.

Which would be more water resistant for off road motorcycle/ATV applications, Valvoline Cobalt or Bel Ray Waterproof Grease (Aluminum Complex) or Royal Purple (Aluminum Complex)?

Would the #2 Cobalt be a good one size fits all grease or should I stick to my Rotella HD grease for general purpose grease?

Aluminum complex greases are typically resistant to salt water (sodium ion) so they would do fine with regular water.

I have found that the cobalt grease is very good at resisting water washout and has very good anti rust along with anti wear properties. I have used it in almost everything.

I bought a case of Schaeffers 219 aluminum complex and it’s good but I feel cobalt is a little more tacky and does not dry out as quick.
