Help: PureONE 14610 or 14460??

For my subarus the recommended filter (all PureONE) is the 14612... so usually I just use the 14610 which is longer, but I have some 14460s in my stash... they fit perfectly.

The 14610 is longer but skinnier, the 14460 is shorter but fatter..

I was wondering if anyone knows which is the better filter... based off of filter media area and all that other stuff u guys know..

wix numbers- any filter with a 20x1.5mm thread and 2.475 od will fit. Don't split hairs . either filter is fine but the taller one has more filter area.

From my research for my 2004 Altima 3.5L V6, the above filters are applicable ... BUT, the Motorcraft number I found and have used is FL-822 (which is also ~3.5" long).

Is there really a FL-821 ... and is it applicable to cross with the other filters listed? What's the difference between the two?

bosch and supertech were made by champ labs in the older non-encore design. Bosch may now be made by purolator as they are at az. supertech, For $2.50 , is a pretty good filter. Maybe not in the best category unless you include price/value.
I have not seen any threads of failed supertech's ,but I did once have a dripper from a bad gasket.
