Apparently so.
I loved the city of Detroit. It's people are vibrant, they are survivors too. The city itself as a company is wrecked though. That former mayor cooked the books and helped leave the city in financial ruin.
There is talk about moving the people from the lesser populated areas into the city and turning the area into farmland.
I'd like to see that to be honest. Let the citizens farm the land and become sharecroppers. It'll give them something to do,while also feeding them and once harvested they'll get a cheque.
Beats leaving the land vacant and doing nothing.
Detroiter's are survivors. They've been on top,and they've swirlled the toilet bowl and one thing I've learned is font count them out.
Yes today it's an eyesore but don't kid yourselves,Detroit is the state of America today and in a few short years most any major city could be what detroit is now.
Those who trash Detroit today need to understand that Detroit was the manufacturing capital of the country. And it's decline is the countries decline,it just takes a while to trickle down.
The city needs to downsize. If relocation is what needs to be done then do it. Give the relocatees a comparable home to the one they are moving from. Give them someplace to call home and watch the area flourish.
When all people see is boarded up windows and overgrown yards they couldn't care less what their yard looks like.
Give them a reason to be proud and they will pay it back with vibrant communities, that people want to live in.
Yes Detroit is in a tough spot, how they deal with it will be the blueprint, that many other cities will have to follow as they decline too.
